Cookie Policy

Important: This Cookie Policy is written for a Netherlands / EU operating model (GDPR and the Dutch Telecommunicatiewet cookie rules) and reflects the platform as it works today: strictly necessary cookies only, no analytics or marketing cookies. If non-essential cookies are ever added, this policy and a consent mechanism must be updated first.

Plain-language summary

The points below paraphrase what the full Cookie Policy already says. They are not a substitute for it — if anything here ever seems to disagree with a numbered section, the numbered section is what applies.

  • GoSwapCards only uses strictly necessary cookies today — sign-in, security, and Stripe's payment-fraud cookies. No analytics or marketing cookies, so no consent banner is needed.
  • Blocking or deleting these cookies signs you out and stops you from logging in, listing cards, or checking out — it does not delete your account or data.
  • If we ever add non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and ask for consent first.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to remember information between page visits, such as whether you are signed in.

Similar techniques such as local storage and session storage work in a comparable way; where this policy says cookies, it covers those techniques too.

Cookies set by GoSwapCards are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company (for example our payment provider on a payment page) are third-party cookies.

2. Which cookies GoSwapCards uses

GoSwapCards currently uses only strictly necessary cookies. These are required to make the platform work and do not need consent under EU cookie rules.

Authentication and session cookies: set by our authentication provider (Supabase) to keep you signed in to your account and to keep your session secure. Without these cookies you cannot log in, manage your collection, or complete deals. They typically last for the duration of your session and are refreshed while you remain active.

Security cookies: used to protect forms and requests against abuse, such as cross-site request forgery.

Infrastructure cookies: Cloudflare may set technical cookies needed to route and deliver the website reliably.

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, marketing cookies, or social-media tracking cookies.

3. Payment pages and Stripe

Payments on GoSwapCards are processed by Stripe. When you enter a payment flow, Stripe sets cookies that it needs for fraud prevention and to process the payment securely.

These cookies are necessary to complete a payment safely and are governed by Stripe's own cookie and privacy policies: https://stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal.

Stripe does not set marketing cookies through GoSwapCards checkout.

5. Managing cookies in your browser

You can view, delete, and block cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) has a cookies section under privacy settings.

Keep in mind that the cookies GoSwapCards uses are strictly necessary: if you block or delete them, you will be signed out and you will not be able to log in, list cards, or complete checkout.

Deleting cookies does not delete your GoSwapCards account or your data; it only removes the local session on your device.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when the platform's cookie use changes, for example when a new provider or feature is added.

If we make material changes, we will publish the updated version on the platform and update the date above. If a change introduces non-essential cookies, we will implement a consent mechanism before those cookies are used.
